# Adding ecommerce to Jimdo (and any other drag-and-drop site builder)

## Jimdo has a store, but its ceiling is low

If you're on Jimdo, you already know their built-in store works for a handful of products. The ceilings show up fast:

- Limited payment method coverage (no Klarna / Afterpay, patchy Apple Pay / Google Pay)
- Basic cart UX (no slide-out, no wishlists)
- No real variant system for complex products
- No automatic file delivery for digital goods
- Tax and shipping rules are shallow
- Language coverage is narrow

Perfectly fine if you're selling 3 items. Limiting at 30.

Most Jimdo users hit the ceiling and assume they have to leave. You don't. You can embed a modern commerce widget inside the Jimdo site you already built, keep the pages and branding you like, and get a proper store instantly.

## The setup, step by step

Total time: under an hour if you already have Jimdo set up.

### 1. Get a Shoprocket account

### 2. Grab your embed snippet

Go to Sales channels → Embeds in your Shoprocket dashboard. Create an embed, pick its type (full catalogue, single product, buy button, or storefront), copy the code. It will look something like this:

(The `pk_yourkey` and `emb_xxx` will be replaced with your real identifiers from the dashboard.)

### 3. Paste into Jimdo

In your Jimdo editor, click where you want the storefront to appear. Add a **Widget / HTML** element (available on Jimdo's paid plans). Paste the snippet. Save.

That's it. Your Jimdo page now has a full product catalogue with a slide-out cart, checkout, and every payment method Shoprocket supports.

### 4. Turn off Jimdo's built-in store (optional)

If you're replacing Jimdo's store entirely, remove the old store blocks from your pages. You don't need them; Shoprocket now handles everything. Your Jimdo site becomes purely the content layer: home, about, blog, contact, and wherever you've placed the Shoprocket embed.
