# Star ratings on Google > Show your review stars on Google Shopping ads, free listings and search results. Shoprocket makes the product reviews feed Merchant Center asks for and puts your rating on your product pages for you. Where the feed URL is, how to add it, and which reviews count toward Google's 50-review minimum. Help Centre / Products - Updated 18 October 2026 The reviews your customers leave in Shoprocket can put star ratings next to your products on Google. There are two places they can show, and Shoprocket handles both without a separate review app: - **Google Shopping**: stars on your Shopping ads and free product listings. These come from a product reviews feed you add in Google Merchant Center. - **Google Search**: stars under a product page in ordinary search results. These come from rating information on the product page itself, which Shoprocket adds for you. ## Before you begin - You need a Google Merchant Center account with your products in it. Shoprocket's product feed does this: see **Settings > Feeds** in your dashboard and turn on **Enable the Google feed**. The reviews feed only appears once the product feed is on, because Google can only show stars on products it already knows. - You need approved reviews. See [Collect and show product reviews](https://v3.shoprocket.io/help/product-reviews.md). ## Stars on Google Shopping ### Find your reviews feed URL 1. In your dashboard, go to **Settings > Feeds**. 2. Under **Review stars on Google**, click **Copy** next to the feed URL. The feed is built fresh whenever Google fetches it, so new reviews you approve are included on Google's next fetch with nothing for you to regenerate. ### Add it to Merchant Center Google switches review stars on per Merchant Center account, so there are two steps: 1. **Ask Google to join.** Fill in Google's **Product Ratings interest form** (linked on the card) for your Merchant Center account. Google reviews the request. 2. **Add the feed.** Once Google accepts you, open **Data sources > Product review sources > Add product reviews** in Merchant Center, choose a scheduled fetch and paste your reviews feed URL. Google matches each review to a product in your product feed, using its barcode (GTIN) first, then its SKU with its brand. Adding barcodes to your products helps it match. ### The 50-review minimum Google shows Shopping stars only once your store has **at least 50 reviews** across all your products. Until then the feed is accepted but no stars appear. You do not have to wait to set it up: add the feed now and stars appear when you pass 50. ## What counts toward the feed A review is sent to Google when it is: - **Approved.** Pending and rejected reviews are left out. - **Written.** A review with stars but no text is left out, because Google requires review text. - **For a product in your product feed**: active, and not set to **Exclude from product feeds**. - **From a customer.** Reviews written through your shop are sent, and so are reviews you imported from your previous platform, because they are genuine customer reviews. Reviews that sellers typed in by hand in the past (source **Manual**) are never sent, because Google requires genuine reviews. ## Stars in Google Search Each product page carries its average rating and number of reviews in the form Google reads for search results. You do not need to set anything up. - **On your Shoprocket shop**, every product page with approved reviews includes its rating. - **On your own website**, the embed adds the rating to each product page it shows, so your own pages are eligible for stars too. A product with no approved reviews sends no rating, because Google rejects a rating with no reviews behind it.
