# Sell product bundles

> Create a product of the Bundle kind, add the products inside it under What's in it, and give it one price. Or let shoppers fill a box of a set size themselves. Stock comes from the products inside.

Help Centre / Products - Updated 29 October 2026

A bundle sells several of your products together at one price, like a gift set or a starter kit. You don't count stock for the bundle itself: it comes from the products inside it, so the bundle and its parts never oversell each other.

The examples use a coffee shop in Portland, OR, selling a `Morning Ritual Set`: a bag of `House Blend Beans` and a `Ceramic Pour-Over Dripper` for `48.00`.

## Before you begin

- Add the products that go inside the bundle first. A bundle can hold physical and digital products, but not gift cards or other bundles.
- Bundles are on every plan.

## Step 1: Create a bundle

1. Go to **Products** and click **Create Product**.
2. Pick **Bundle**.
3. Under **Basics**, type the **Product name**, for example `Morning Ritual Set`.

The kind can't be changed later. If you are already on another product, **Add to this product** offers **New bundle**, which starts a new one.

## Step 2: Add what's in it

The **What's in it** section sits under **Media**.

1. Click **Add a part** and search for a product, for example `House Blend Beans`. If a product has variants, each variant is listed on its own, so pick the exact one.
2. Set its **Quantity**, meaning how many of it one bundle contains.
3. Repeat for each part. A bundle holds up to 20 parts, and each part is listed once: raise its quantity instead of adding it twice.

To take a part out, click the bin icon on its row.

## Step 3: Set the price

Under **Pricing**, type the bundle's **Price**, for example `48.00`. Below the parts, **Bought separately** shows what the parts cost on their own and how much shoppers save at your price.

Click **Create**, then set **Status** to **Active** and click **Save** when you are ready to sell it.

## Let shoppers choose what goes in (mix-and-match box)

A box can also be filled by the shopper: a `Box of 6` macarons where they pick the flavours, at one price for the box. You list the flavours once, as their own products, and every box offers them.

1. Create a bundle as in Step 1, for example `Macaron Box of 6`.
2. In **What's in it**, turn on **Shopper chooses the contents**.
3. Type **Items in each box**, for example `6`. Shoppers must pick exactly this many: the button stays as **Complete Your Selection** until they have.
4. Under **Items come from**, pick **A category** and choose the category your flavours are in, for example `Macarons`. Every physical or digital product in it is offered, drafts included, so a flavour you only sell in boxes can stay a draft. A product you add to that category later joins the box on its own, and a product you take out of it leaves.
5. Or pick **Products I pick** and click **Add an item** for each one instead.
6. Set the box's **Price** and click **Save**.

For a `Box of 12` from the same flavours, create a second bundle with the same category and `12` items.

![The What's in it section of a box with Shopper chooses the contents turned on, 6 items in each box, taken from a category](https://v3.shoprocket.io/img/help/product-bundles/mix-and-match-editor.webp)

On the product page, shoppers see each item with an **Add** button that becomes a counter, and a running count such as `4 of 6 chosen`. An item that is out of stock can't be picked. In the cart, at checkout, on the receipt and on the order, the box shows what was chosen, for example `Includes: 2 x Pistachio, 4 x Salted Caramel`. Two boxes with different flavours are two separate lines.

- **Stock comes from each chosen item.** A box sells while its items have stock between them, and each sale takes stock from the flavours the shopper picked. An item with unlimited stock never holds the box back.
- **A box ships** if anything it offers is physical. Set its weight under **Shipping** if your rates use weight.
- A box can't be added to an order you create in the dashboard yet: add its items as their own lines instead.

## How stock works

- **The bundle has no stock of its own.** There is no **Inventory** section; the stock of each part decides how many bundles you can sell.
- **It sells while every part is in stock.** If one part runs out, the bundle shows as sold out too. A part with unlimited stock never holds the bundle back.
- **Each sale takes stock from each part**, times its quantity. A bundle and a loose bag of the same beans draw on the same stock.
- After saving, the collapsed **What's in it** section shows how many bundles are available.
- If you archive or delete a product inside the bundle, its row says it is no longer on sale, and the bundle stays sold out until you remove that part or restore the product.

## Shipping, downloads and keys

- A bundle ships if any part is physical, and then it gets a **Shipping** section like any physical product. A bundle of only digital products doesn't ship.
- Digital parts are emailed to the buyer when the order is paid, with each part's own download limits.
- A part with licence keys hands out its own keys. The bundle has no **Licence keys** section of its own.
- A bundle can't have variants and can't be sold on a subscription.
