# Product images and video > Add pictures and short videos to a product under Media by dropping them on the box or clicking browse. The first one is the main picture; drag to reorder. On a saved product, changes to media save straight away. Help Centre / Products - Updated 29 October 2026 Good pictures sell. Each product has one gallery of pictures and videos, shown on its product page, with the first one used wherever the product appears in a list, like your shop's product grid. ## What you can upload - **Pictures:** JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or iPhone photos, up to 10 MB each. - **Videos:** MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 90 MB. Videos play silently, and only the first 20 seconds are kept, so a short clip works best: steam coming off a fresh pour, a bag being opened. ## Step 1: Add pictures and videos 1. Open the product in **Products** and go to the **Media** section. 2. Drop your files onto the box, or click **browse** to pick them. You can add several at once. 3. Once there is something in the gallery, add more with the **Add media** tile, or drop more files anywhere on the gallery. Each file shows its progress while it uploads. A new video shows **Processing** for up to a minute while it is prepared, then turns into its first frame. ![The Media section of a product with four pictures, the first one larger and marked Main, and the Add media tile](https://v3.shoprocket.io/img/help/product-images-and-video/product-media.webp) ## Step 2: Choose the main picture and the order The first item in the gallery is the main one. It is drawn larger and, once there are two or more, marked **Main**. It is the one used in product listings. When someone shares the product's link, the preview uses the first picture (a video is skipped). To change the order, hover over a picture and drag it by the handle in its top corner. Shoppers see the gallery in this order. ## Removing a picture or video Hover over it and click the bin icon in its corner, then click **Remove?** within a few seconds to confirm. ## When changes are saved - **On a product that already exists,** adding, removing and reordering media saves immediately. You don't need to click **Save**, and a refresh keeps them. - **On a new product,** your uploads are held on the page and attached when you click **Create**. If a picture uploads but doesn't attach to the product, its tile shows **Not saved**. Click the retry button on it to try again, or the bin to drop it. ## A picture for each variant If the product has variants, you can link a picture to each one, so that choosing "Ground" or "1kg" on the product page shows that picture. 1. In the **Variants** section, under **Inventory & Pricing**, click the picture square at the start of a variant's row. 2. In **Variant image**, click one of the product's pictures, or click **Upload** to add a new one. A new upload also joins the product's gallery. 3. Click **Save**. Choose **None** to clear a variant's picture. Variants take pictures only, not videos.
