# Product tabs > Product tabs are content panels, like Shipping, Returns or a Size guide, shown under a product's description. Write one in Product tabs and it shows on every product it covers, or add a panel to a single product from its Extra panels section. Help Centre / Products - Updated 29 October 2026 Shoppers often want the same answers on every product page: how shipping works, what your returns policy is, how to store the beans. Product tabs let you write that once and show it on every product it applies to. When you edit a shared tab, every product that shows it changes at once. Each tab has a title and its content. On the product page it appears under the description as its own panel. ## Before you begin The **Product tabs** page is part of the **Product tabs** app. If you don't see **Product tabs** under **Catalog** in your sidebar, go to **Apps**, find **Product tabs** under **All apps** and click **Add**. It is included on every plan. ## Step 1: Write a shared tab 1. Go to **Product tabs**. 2. Click **Add tab**. 3. Type a **Title**. This is the heading shoppers see on the panel, for example `Shipping`. 4. Write the **Content**, for example `We roast on Mondays and ship from Portland, OR within 2 business days.` 5. Under **Shows on**, choose where it appears: - **All products**: every product in your store, including ones you add later. - **Products in specific categories**: pick one or more categories. A tab on a category also shows on the products in its subcategories. It follows category membership, so moving a product to another category moves its tabs with it. 6. Leave **Active** on. An inactive tab stays on the list but shows on no product. 7. Each tab's badge says what it is on: **All products**, a number of categories, or a number of products. ## Step 2: Put your tabs in order Drag a tab up or down the list by its handle on the left. Nothing changes until you click **Save order** in the bar at the top. ## Step 3: Hide a shared tab on one product (optional) Sometimes one product needs different wording, like a grinder with its own warranty. Rather than writing a second copy of the policy, hide the shared tab on that product and give it its own panel. 1. Go to **Products** and open the product. 2. Find the **Extra panels** section. If the product has no panels yet, click **Add to this product** below the sections, then click **Add** next to **Extra panels** under **On the product page**. 3. Under **From your tab library**, click **Showing** next to the tab. It changes to **Hidden here**. 4. Click **Save**. Library tabs appear here once the product has been created, because which ones reach it depends on its categories. To edit a shared tab, click **Manage library**: changes there apply to every product it covers. ## Step 4: Add a panel to just one product (optional) 1. On the product, in the **Extra panels** section, under **Only on this product**, click **Add panel**. 2. Type a **Title**, for example `Roast notes`, and write its content. 3. Click **Save**. These panels show only on that product. They are also listed on the **Product tabs** page under **Product-specific**, and you can edit them from either place.
